Behind The Creation...

Welcome to Letters to Warriors.

I sincerely thank you for visiting; whether it’s out of support, curiosity or because you too are a warrior – I thank you.

I created this platform to offer information on local and national supports available to people who have been:

·         abused; physically, mentally and/or sexually

·         suffering with depression, anxiety or similar

I have linked in with local services that you may access from this site. Please see the tabs above to access their information.

If you are in a position to make a donation to any of these services, please do so – big or small; every donation helps. These services save the lives of all the warriors amongst us; without services of this nature, I personally wouldn’t have survived.

MY STORIES

I have written letters of comfort and empowerment; of which you can choose to read if you want to.

These letters stem from my own experiences. I have faced many forms of abuse in the most recent years of my life.

I have suffered; but my pain will not be wasted. I will use that pain to create positivity and protect as many people as I can, from same & similar suffering.

Five years ago, I was spiked with a sedative which left me unconscious. I woke up the next morning being raped. I was in a different house and I was being abused by a nightclub bouncer I had known and trusted for many years. It was made known to me throughout my case that I had been raped twice the night I was spiked. I only knew this because of how I was woken. The drugs were found in my blood samples, the DNA of that man was found all over my battered body. My case never made it to a court room…

I was also physically attacked shortly after. It was unprovoked, by a friends new lover. I had only met him once before. He assaulted me and strangled me on the main streets of Wexford Town. Two young men passing by saved me. I never had the chance to meet my saviours as I ran for my life to find help. I fought for justice; that man now has a criminal record for life. I did this to protect any person(s) he meets in the future.

Now, I am in the middle of my newest case. I am Wexfords first case of Cocos Law. Images of my body were taken without my knowledge or consent, shown and shared to many people.

I will discuss this further when I am legally entitled to do so…

THE LETTERS

A healing journey is rarely linear; quite like grief, it rises and falls and comes to us in waves of emotions. For this reason, the letters aren’t ‘in order’.

I have arranged them in ways that I feel would be beneficial to you, the reader, however I do believe it would be best for you to read the titles of the letters and read them in the order that feels best to you; because they are for you.

Warrior: NOUN

(especially in former times) a brave or experienced soldier or fighter

If you have experienced trauma, of any kind, then you my dear, are a warrior.

You bravely face your battle(s) every day that you live; regardless of what form they appear.

You are surviving your most challenging times; you are fierce and brave in ways that you most likely do not see.

Whether you have just experienced that brutality, or have hidden it deep within for some time; I hope these letters can comfort you, empower you, help you and show you that your life can & will be incredible.

Let me be with you through your healing journey; one warrior to another.

You are not alone.

RECOMMENDATIONS

I recommend reading these letters in a safe space. Get yourself comfortable; take a deep breath- pour yourself something nice to drink.

At first, try reading one letter per ‘visit’; to avoid any feeling of overwhelm.

When you finish reading the letter, I recommend sitting with yourself for a few minutes to let the information resonate with you.

I sincerely thank Wally O’Neil for all his support that has lead me onto this path.

Owner of Red Books, Wally encouraged and inspired me to become an author. ‘Brongah’ is available in Red Books Wexford and Gorey and online following the link below. ‘Bronagh’ is an auto-fiction novel highlighting the injustice within our current legal system regarding sexual violence.

50% of the proceeds are donated directly to Wexford Rape Crisis Centre. I do hope to write a sequel in the coming months…”
